General Manager GCC Cluster

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary General Manager (GM) for the GCC Cluster to lead our operations across the Gulf Cooperation Council region with strategic precision and operational excellence. This pivotal role will position you as the driving force behind the long-term success and sustainable growth of our business in the region. As the local steward of our corporate brand, you will be responsible for aligning all cluster activities with Biogen’s global strategy while ensuring strict compliance with local and international regulations. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and operational superiority, positioning you as the definitive authority for all business decisions within the Affiliate/Cluster.

In this role, you will helm the Cluster Leadership Team, collaborating closely with global counterparts to synchronize priorities and drive performance. You will leverage the Biogen GM Accountability model to its fullest potential, ensuring that every initiative is executed with the highest standards of integrity, compliance, and strategic alignment. Your ability to inspire and mobilize teams will be critical in achieving annual performance goals while maintaining a robust framework of legal and ethical adherence.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership and Execution: Lead the Cluster team to achieve long-term objectives and annual performance targets, ensuring full compliance with Biogen’s policies, local regulations, and industry standards. Develop and implement business strategies that align with corporate objectives while fostering a culture of excellence and operational acuity.
• Operational Oversight: Manage core and supporting functions to ensure seamless execution of deliverables, with established metrics to evaluate performance. Oversee supply chain management, accurate forecasting, and adherence to legal obligations for medicine distribution, ensuring operational efficiency and risk mitigation.
• Compliance and Governance: Uphold legal, fiduciary, and compliance responsibilities, minimizing risk exposure and ensuring adherence to internal and external standards. Maintain robust financial governance through P&L management, budgeting, financial forecasting, and reporting in alignment with corporate policies.
• Market Access and Customer Engagement: Drive market access strategies, including pricing and reimbursement initiatives, while collaborating with Global and Regional Market Access teams. Supervise customer engagement strategies to ensure alignment with compliance requirements and evolving business dynamics.
• Medical and Stakeholder Relations: Ensure medical activities are strategically aligned with company goals, supporting the Medical team in becoming a trusted partner for external stakeholders, including healthcare organizations and industry associations.
• Team Development and Culture: Foster an inclusive, innovative, and high-performance culture within the Cluster by collaborating with HR to attract, develop, and retain top talent. Champion a speak-up culture that encourages risk-taking, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Brand and Relationship Management: Promote Biogen’s corporate brand locally, building and maintaining productive relationships with government bodies, healthcare institutions, and industry associations. Oversee IT, facilities, and procurement functions to ensure infrastructure supports productivity and compliance with corporate policies.
