Position Overview

The Accounting Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the financial health and operational efficiency of our subsidiary, ensuring robust financial management, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial insights. This position is instrumental in driving the financial success of our robotics warehouse automation business, which specializes in the development, manufacturing, and deployment of advanced automated ranking, sorting, and storage-retrieval systems. The Accounting Manager will lead the finance team within the subsidiary, enforce the group’s financial policies, and collaborate closely with the Group Finance team to align subsidiary performance with overarching corporate objectives. By providing accurate financial reporting, strategic cost control, and insightful analysis, this role supports informed decision-making and sustainable growth within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

The Accounting Manager is responsible for a broad spectrum of financial and operational duties, including:

  • Financial Accounting and Reporting:
    • Supervise daily accounting operations to ensure the precise recording and reconciliation of all financial transactions.
    • Oversee the preparation of subsidiary financial statements in strict adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements.
    • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, delivering timely and accurate financial reports to stakeholders.
    • Conduct thorough reviews of general ledger balances, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to maintain financial integrity.
    • Generate and present financial reports and analyses to the Group Finance team, emphasizing key performance indicators and emerging trends.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Collaborate with the Group Financial Planning and Analysis department to develop and execute budgeting and forecasting processes for the subsidiary.
    • Work alongside department heads to establish realistic financial targets and performance benchmarks.
    • Monitor actual performance against budgeted figures, providing detailed variance analysis and actionable insights.
    • Develop sophisticated financial models to facilitate forecasting, scenario planning, and data-driven business decisions.
    • Deliver periodic analyses on revenue streams, production costs, and operational efficiency to guide strategic initiatives.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance:
    • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the subsidiary’s assets and uphold the accuracy of financial reporting.
    • Ensure full compliance with the group’s financial policies, procedures, and accounting standards across all subsidiary operations.
    • Facilitate seamless collaboration with internal and external auditors, addressing audit findings promptly and effectively.
  • Cost Control and Financial Efficiency:
    • Analyze manufacturing and production costs, including expenditures on robotics components, automation hardware, and assembly labor, to identify cost-saving opportunities.
    • Provide strategic financial insights to support capital expenditure decisions, investments in automation equipment, R&D initiatives, and warehouse infrastructure upgrades.
    • Monitor working capital components, such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory levels of spare parts, components, and finished robotic units, to optimize cash flow and liquidity.
  • Finance Team Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team within the subsidiary, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Equip the finance team with the necessary skills, tools, and resources to achieve subsidiary financial objectives and support broader corporate goals.
    • Serve as a liaison between the subsidiary and Group Finance, ensuring alignment in financial reporting, policies, and strategic priorities.
  • Business Partnering and Support:
    • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and warehouse operations teams to ensure accurate financial recording and reporting of manufacturing costs.
    • Deliver financial analysis and insights to inform operational decisions related to automation projects and warehouse system deployments.
    • Support senior management in evaluating the financial implications of operational activities, new automation product lines, and strategic initiatives.
    • Coordinate with the Group Finance team to ensure subsidiary reporting aligns with group-wide standards and requirements.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and assess financial risks associated with raw material costs, technology investments, project delivery timelines, and market volatility.
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to protect the subsidiary’s financial stability and support long-term business resilience.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Accounting Manager role should possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, complemented by a professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA. A minimum of 7–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience is required, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership capacity. Experience within the robotics, automation, or manufacturing sectors is highly desirable. Proficiency in ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with IFRS are essential. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities are critical for success in this role. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethical financial practices, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive continuous improvement within the finance function.
