Position Overview

Parsons, a global leader in engineering and construction services, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced BIM Manager (Utilities) to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the implementation and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes for utility projects, ensuring alignment with industry standards, client expectations, and organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in BIM methodologies, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects within the utilities sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • BIM Strategy and Implementation: Develop and execute BIM strategies tailored to utility projects, including coordination, collaboration, and data management across multidisciplinary teams. Ensure compliance with international BIM standards such as ISO 19650 and local regulatory requirements.
  • Project Leadership: Lead BIM initiatives from conceptual design through construction and handover, fostering a collaborative environment that integrates architects, engineers, contractors, and utility providers. Act as a liaison between technical teams and senior management to align BIM deliverables with project milestones.
  • Technical Oversight: Supervise the creation and maintenance of BIM models, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and interoperability across software platforms such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks. Validate model integrity and resolve technical challenges related to utility systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies to present BIM deliverables, address concerns, and ensure seamless integration of utility infrastructure within broader project frameworks. Facilitate workshops and training sessions to enhance BIM proficiency among project stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance and Risk Management: Implement robust quality control processes to mitigate errors, clashes, and inefficiencies in BIM models. Identify potential risks related to utility installations and propose mitigative measures to ensure project continuity and safety compliance.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Champion the adoption of emerging BIM technologies, such as cloud-based collaboration tools, generative design, and digital twins, to enhance project efficiency and sustainability. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to drive innovation within the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification in BIM (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional, BRE BIM Certification) is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in BIM management, with at least 5 years dedicated to utility projects within the infrastructure or energy sectors. Prior experience in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia, is advantageous.
  • Technical Proficiency: Extensive knowledge of BIM software suites (Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, BIM 360) and utility-specific tools. Familiarity with GIS integration, clash detection, and 4D/5D scheduling is essential.
  • Leadership and Communication: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Strong project management skills with proficiency in tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Certifications: Valid BIM certification (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit, BIM Level 2 Certification) and membership in professional bodies such as the BIM Forum or buildingSMART International are preferred.
