About the Role

Our client, a leading organization based in Saudi Arabia, is seeking a visionary and results-driven IT Director to spearhead its technology function. This pivotal senior leadership position is tasked with crafting and implementing a forward-thinking IT strategy that aligns seamlessly with the organization’s business objectives. The IT Director will play a critical role in driving digital transformation, optimizing technology infrastructure, and ensuring operational excellence to support sustained business growth. This role demands a strategic mindset, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of how technology can be leveraged to create competitive advantages in a dynamic market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop, communicate, and execute a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with the organization’s long-term business goals, ensuring technology initiatives are both innovative and value-driven.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing IT team across multiple domains, including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and technical support, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Technology Infrastructure Oversight: Oversee the management and optimization of enterprise systems, ERP platforms, cloud infrastructure, and network operations to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Digital Transformation: Champion and drive digital transformation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and business agility, positioning the organization at the forefront of technological advancement.
  • IT Governance & Compliance: Establish and enforce robust IT governance frameworks, cybersecurity policies, and compliance standards in adherence to Saudi regulatory requirements, including guidelines from the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA), SAMA, and the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CITC).
  • Risk Management & Security: Implement and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity measures, data protection protocols, and disaster recovery plans to safeguard critical assets and ensure business continuity.
  • Budget & Vendor Management: Oversee IT budget planning, allocation, and execution, while managing vendor relationships and technology procurement to maximize cost efficiency and value delivery.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and department heads, identifying technology-driven opportunities to enhance productivity, innovation, and competitive positioning.
  • Regulatory & Data Protection Adherence: Ensure full compliance with local and international data protection regulations, including the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), and other relevant Saudi frameworks to mitigate legal and operational risks.

Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a blend of technical expertise, strategic acumen, and leadership prowess. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is highly desirable.
  • At least 15 years of progressive IT experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role, demonstrating a proven ability to drive IT strategy and transformation.
  • Extensive experience in managing enterprise systems, particularly ERP platforms, cloud infrastructure, and IT governance frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, and ISO 27001.
  • A deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and compliance requirements, particularly within the Saudi regulatory landscape, including NCA ECC and PDPL.
  • Demonstrated expertise in budget management, vendor negotiations, and cross-functional team leadership, with a track record of delivering technology solutions that align with business needs.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Prior experience working in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is strongly preferred; proficiency in Arabic is an added advantage.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as PMP, CISSP, ITIL, or TOGAF are considered a significant plus.
