We are currently seeking skilled Freelance Full-Stack Web App Developers with expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and Python or Node.js to join our team as AI Pilots—our term for professionals who combine full-stack engineering prowess with architectural insight to build interactive, browser-based applications.

In this role, you will work alongside Tendem Agents, which automate repetitive tasks, while you take the lead in designing, developing, and refining robust web applications. Your responsibilities will include ensuring these applications are fully functional, secure, and ready for real-world deployment. This part-time, remote opportunity is tailored for experienced developers who thrive in end-to-end web development and are passionate about delivering high-quality digital products.

Your Mission as an AI Pilot

As an AI Pilot at Mindrift, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of interactive web applications. Your work will span the entire development lifecycle, from conceptualizing and architecting solutions to implementing and deploying them. You will collaborate with AI-driven tools to streamline processes, while providing the human expertise required to elevate these applications to production standards. This role is ideal for professionals who are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess a strong foundation in modern web technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Frontend Development: Design and build interactive user interfaces using modern frameworks such as React, Next.js, Vue.js, or Svelte. Ensure seamless user experiences with responsive design, state management, and robust error handling.
• Backend Development: Develop scalable and efficient backend APIs using Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django) or Node.js (Express, NestJS). Implement RESTful endpoints, request validation, and authentication mechanisms to secure data and user interactions.
• Database Management: Design and optimize data models, schemas, and persistence layers using relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQLite, as well as NoSQL stores where appropriate.
• Integration and Automation: Integrate third-party APIs, AI services (such as OpenAI or Anthropic), and LLM-powered features into your applications. Develop standalone Python tools and scripts for data processing, API clients, or backend utilities as needed.
• Code Refinement and Quality Assurance: Evaluate AI-generated full-stack code, refactoring it for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability. Write clean, testable code and debug end-to-end issues across frontend, backend, and database layers.
• Deployment and Maintenance: Deploy applications to platforms like Vercel, Netlify, Render, Fly.io, or Railway. Ensure applications are scalable, performant, and ready for real users.

Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Experience: A minimum of 3 years in full-stack web development or shipping interactive web applications. A portfolio of completed projects is required.
• Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one modern frontend framework (React, Next.js, Vue.js, Svelte, etc.).
  • Solid backend experience in Python (FastAPI, Flask, Django) and/or Node.js (Express, NestJS).
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite) and basic schema design.
  • Experience implementing REST APIs, request validation, error handling, and authentication flows.
  • Familiarity with deployment platforms (Vercel, Netlify, Render, Fly.io, Railway, etc.).
  • Experience integrating LLM APIs or other AI services into product features is a strong plus.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently while collaborating with AI tools and team members. Commitment to building production-ready products, not prototypes.
• Tools and Practices: Proficiency in version control (Git) and basic testing practices. English proficiency is required.
