Key Responsibilities

The Shop Supervisor will play a critical role in driving the success of our shop operations. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of shop floor employees, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback to ensure productivity and morale remain high.
• Operational Oversight: Oversee daily shop activities, including workflow management, resource allocation, and equipment utilization. Ensure that all processes adhere to established standards and timelines while identifying opportunities for efficiency gains.
• Safety and Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and training sessions to minimize workplace hazards and ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor product quality and workmanship to meet or exceed customer expectations. Implement quality control measures, conduct inspections, and address any deviations promptly to maintain consistency and reliability.
• Inventory and Maintenance: Manage inventory levels, track supplies, and coordinate with procurement teams to avoid shortages. Oversee the maintenance and calibration of shop equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Process Improvement: Analyze operational data, identify bottlenecks, and propose innovative solutions to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and streamline workflows.
• Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of shop activities, including production reports, incident logs, and performance metrics. Prepare and present regular updates to management to support data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: A diploma or degree in a relevant technical field, such as mechanical engineering, industrial management, or a related discipline. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing, industrial, or shop floor environment. Prior experience in a similar industry is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of shop operations, including machinery, tools, and production techniques. Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and shop management software is a plus.
• Leadership and Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. Proven problem-solving abilities and a results-driven mindset.
• Safety and Compliance: In-depth understanding of HSE regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices. Commitment to fostering a safe and compliant work environment.
• Language Skills: Fluency in English and Arabic is required. Additional language proficiency is advantageous.
