Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Cashier to join our Finance team. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless financial transactions within our healthcare facility while delivering exceptional service to patients and visitors. The Cashier will be responsible for processing payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to uphold the highest standards of financial integrity and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

The Cashier will perform a variety of critical tasks, including:

• Payment Processing: Accurately receive and process payments for consultations, procedures, medications, and other healthcare services, ensuring compliance with established financial policies and procedures.
• Receipt Issuance and Record-Keeping: Generate and distribute receipts for all transactions while maintaining meticulous records of cash, card, and electronic payments to support financial audits and reporting.
• Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborate closely with billing, admissions, and insurance teams to verify charges, resolve payment discrepancies, and address customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Cash Handling and Security: Safeguard all financial transactions by adhering to strict cash-handling protocols, including balancing cash drawers, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Customer Service Excellence: Provide a positive and professional experience for patients and visitors by addressing questions, concerns, and payment-related issues with empathy, efficiency, and clarity.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years of relevant experience in cashiering, finance, customer service, or a similar role is essential. Prior experience in a healthcare or hospital setting is highly advantageous.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, financial software, and Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) is preferred.
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational abilities, and the capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are critical. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required to interact effectively with patients, staff, and management.
• Compliance and Ethics: A commitment to maintaining confidentiality, adhering to financial regulations, and upholding the highest ethical standards in all transactions.
