الوصف الوظيفي

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Software Operations Engineer to join our groundbreaking smart warehouse project in Saudi Arabia. This is a long-term, on-site position where you will serve as the critical link between software systems, automation technologies, and cross-vendor integrations. Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring the seamless, 24/7 operation of our advanced warehouse infrastructure, which leverages cutting-edge technologies such as Lenovo business systems, industrial gateways, Warehouse Execution Systems (WES), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), and Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) dispatching systems. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, equipment vendors, and third-party operations and maintenance (O&M) teams to maintain operational excellence, resolve complex system issues, and drive continuous improvement in our warehouse automation ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Multi-System Software Operations & Maintenance (O&M):
    • Monitor and maintain the daily operations of Lenovo business systems, self-developed industrial gateways, WES/WCS warehouse systems, and AGV dispatching systems to ensure uninterrupted performance.
    • Liaise with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical teams, including Lenovo, WCS, and AGV vendors, to troubleshoot cross-system interface issues, data transmission failures, task dispatching errors, and business process blockages.
    • Support system version upgrades through on-site validation, testing, and coordination with vendors to ensure smooth deployment and minimal disruption.
    • Gather and document user requirements to identify opportunities for product enhancement and process optimization.
  • Software-Hardware Joint Troubleshooting:
    • Partner with network and hardware engineers to diagnose software communication failures stemming from servers, switches, wireless networks, or automation equipment.
    • Conduct root cause analysis across software logic, data anomalies, network links, and hardware defects, taking ownership of issue resolution and driving corrective actions.
    • Develop comprehensive post-mortem reports for AGV and automation equipment failures, and refine troubleshooting procedures to prevent recurrence.
  • Server & Software Infrastructure O&M:
    • Assist infrastructure teams with routine health checks, log analysis, and data backup validation for Windows and Linux servers.
    • Monitor high availability (HA) status, address system crashes, and resolve service startup failures at the software level to maintain operational continuity.
    • Ensure scheduled backups are executed and validate backup integrity for all warehouse systems, maintaining detailed logs for compliance and audit purposes.
  • End-User Software Support:
    • Resolve software-related issues for warehouse devices, including PCs, PDAs, scanning terminals, and production line equipment (e.g., EWM/WES login errors, printing failures).
    • Manage terminal software deployment, permission configurations, and network onboarding for new devices to ensure seamless integration into the warehouse environment.
  • Documentation & Asset Management:
    • Maintain accurate records of system interfaces, software versions, troubleshooting outcomes, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure knowledge continuity.
    • Update system topology diagrams, interface mapping tables, and configuration documents to reflect the latest infrastructure changes and dependencies.
  • Emergency Response & Cross-Team Coordination:
    • Provide on-site standby support (7 days a week, 8 hours a day) to address production line software failures and ensure rapid system recovery.
    • Escalate critical issues to Level-2 support teams in China and coordinate with network and hardware teams to achieve joint resolution.
    • Standardize O&M procedures for third-party vendors and conduct regular status synchronization meetings to align on operational priorities.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

Education & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Logistics Automation, Mechatronics, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in the implementation, on-site O&M, or troubleshooting of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), WCS (Warehouse Control Systems), WES (Warehouse Execution Systems), AGV dispatching systems, or industrial gateway solutions.
  • Prior experience in automated production lines or overseas project sites is highly advantageous and will be considered a strong asset.
  • A foundational understanding of servers, networking principles, and automation hardware is preferred to facilitate effective collaboration with technical teams.

Technical Skills

  • Software O&M: Ability to interpret interface logs and message payloads, and independently troubleshoot cross-system data exchange and API errors.
  • Warehouse Systems: Solid grasp of WES/WCS/AGV business logic, enabling you to address routine process failures with minimal supervision.
  • Server & Systems: Proficiency in basic Windows and Linux operations, including system log analysis, service status monitoring, and performance metric evaluation.
  • High Availability & Backup: Familiarity with HA principles and backup methodologies to ensure data integrity and system resilience.
  • Hardware Collaboration (Nice to Have): Basic awareness of networking and automation hardware to support joint diagnostics with network and hardware engineers.
  • End-User Support (Nice to Have): Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot software issues on warehouse devices such as PCs, PDAs, and scanning terminals.
