Position Overview
We are partnering with a leading healthcare and hospital network organization in the Middle East, currently undergoing significant expansion. As part of this dynamic growth, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT PMO – Medical KSA to join our client’s Information Technology (IT) department. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), this role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of IT projects that directly support the hospital’s medical operations and clinical activities. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of project management expertise, healthcare domain knowledge, and strong leadership skills to drive excellence in project execution while maintaining strict adherence to quality, timelines, and budgetary constraints.
Key Responsibilities
The IT PMO – Medical KSA will serve as the cornerstone for IT project governance within the hospital’s medical ecosystem. Core responsibilities include:
- Project Leadership: Spearhead IT projects that enhance medical operations and clinical workflows, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and healthcare standards.
- Governance and Methodology: Implement and oversee project governance frameworks in accordance with established PMO standards and methodologies, fostering consistency and accountability across all initiatives.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a bridge between IT teams and critical medical stakeholders, including Medical Leadership, Nursing, Quality, and Clinical teams, to ensure seamless integration of technology solutions into clinical practices.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Manage relationships with internal teams and external vendors, facilitating efficient collaboration to deliver high-impact projects on time and within budget.
- Project Planning and Monitoring: Develop comprehensive project plans, monitor progress, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure project success and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to minimize disruptions and safeguard project outcomes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to stringent regulatory requirements and hospital-specific standards, including those governing patient data, clinical workflows, and IT infrastructure.
- Change Management and Training: Lead change management initiatives and provide end-user training to facilitate smooth adoption of new systems and technologies within the medical environment.
- Reporting and Communication: Prepare detailed project reports, dashboards, and executive summaries to keep senior management informed of project statuses, challenges, and milestones.
Candidate Profile
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and experience criteria:
Education and Certifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or PMI-PMO are highly advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in project management.
Professional Experience
- A minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in IT project management, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects in high-stakes environments.
- Direct experience within a hospital or healthcare setting is mandatory, ensuring familiarity with the unique challenges and requirements of the medical sector.
- Hands-on experience in managing projects related to medical operations, nursing services, quality management, Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR), and clinical applications is essential.
Technical and Functional Skills
- Project Management Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in managing IT projects from initiation to closure, utilizing methodologies such as Agile and/or Waterfall as appropriate.
- PMO Tools: Experience with industry-standard PMO tools to streamline project planning, execution, and reporting.
- Healthcare IT Knowledge: A deep understanding of Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and their integration into clinical workflows.
- Specialized System Experience: Familiarity with InterSystems TrackCare and SAP S/4HANA is required, given their critical role in the hospital’s IT ecosystem.
