Position Overview
As a Strategy Analyst, you will play a critical role in advancing the strategic objectives of a leading healthcare organization by serving as the analytical backbone of the Corporate Strategy function. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), you will bridge the gap between high-level strategic vision and operational execution, ensuring that the organization’s mission of delivering high-quality, patient-centered healthcare is achieved through rigorous data analysis, performance monitoring, and cross-functional alignment. Your expertise in the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) framework, advanced analytics, and strategic project management will enable informed decision-making at the executive level, driving measurable outcomes across all departments.
Key Responsibilities
The Strategy Analyst is responsible for a wide range of strategic and analytical functions, including:
- Strategic Planning & Alignment:
- Lead and support the CSO in the annual and multi-year strategic planning process, ensuring alignment with the organization’s vision and mission.
- Facilitate cross-departmental strategy alignment workshops to ensure all business units’ objectives are coherently linked to the enterprise strategic plan.
- Translate enterprise-level strategic objectives into departmental scorecards and operational targets, fostering vertical and horizontal alignment throughout the organization.
- Balanced Scorecard (BSC) Management:
- Own the design, development, and continuous refinement of the organizational BSC across all four perspectives: Financial, Customer, Internal Processes, and Learning & Growth.
- Prepare and present high-level strategic performance reports, including KPI dashboards, variance analyses, and executive scorecards for the CSO, C-Suite, and Board of Directors.
- Data Analysis & Insights:
- Perform advanced quantitative and qualitative analysis on clinical, operational, and financial datasets to identify trends, performance gaps, and strategic opportunities.
- Translate complex data into executive-level insights, enabling evidence-based decision-making.
- Design the KPI framework, define measures and targets, and build the architecture of dashboards and visual reports using tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Financial & Strategic Modeling:
- Develop financial models, conduct scenario analyses, and perform cost-benefit and ROI assessments to support strategic investment decisions and recommendations to the CSO.
- Assess the impact of process improvement initiatives and evaluate post-implementation outcomes, integrating findings into the BSC and strategic reporting.
- Strategic Communication & Reporting:
- Author strategic presentations, memos, and briefing documents for the CSO, C-Suite, and Board of Directors.
- Lead the preparation of materials for strategic planning retreats and board-level performance reviews.
- Attend strategic steering committees and executive meetings as an analytical resource, contributing insights and following up on strategic action items.
- Risk Management & Capability Building:
- Identify strategic-level risks, trends, and deviations, providing analytical recommendations and escalating critical issues to the CSO with supporting evidence and proposed corrective actions.
- Assess capability gaps in strategic thinking and BSC application across the organization, advising on training needs and contributing to strategic literacy programs.
- Project Portfolio Oversight:
- Maintain oversight of the strategic project portfolio, monitoring alignment of all initiatives with the BSC and strategic objectives.
- Identify portfolio-level risks and strategic gaps, recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Executive Support & Rapid Analysis:
- Respond to time-sensitive analytical requests from the CSO and executive team, conducting rapid research and structured analysis to inform urgent strategic decisions.
Qualifications & Competencies
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic planning, business analysis, or a related field, preferably within the healthcare industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and cost-benefit assessments.
- Familiarity with the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) framework and strategic performance management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other business intelligence tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for executive audiences.
