Software Engineer II - Backend (Saudi Nationals Only)

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of backend development tasks, including but not limited to:

• System Architecture & Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design robust, scalable, and efficient backend architectures that meet business requirements and performance standards.
• API Development: Develop and maintain high-performance RESTful and GraphQL APIs that facilitate seamless communication between frontend applications and backend services.
• Database Management: Design, optimize, and maintain relational and NoSQL databases to ensure data integrity, security, and efficient query performance.
• Microservices & Cloud Computing: Implement and deploy microservices using modern cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) to enhance scalability, reliability, and deployment efficiency.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring that backend systems operate at peak efficiency to support high-traffic demands.
• Security & Compliance: Implement best practices for security, data protection, and compliance with industry standards to safeguard user data and maintain regulatory adherence.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions while mentoring junior team members to foster professional growth.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure the reliability, functionality, and scalability of backend systems before deployment.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and technical proficiencies:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in backend development, with a strong focus on designing and implementing scalable systems.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or Node.js, along with experience in frameworks like Spring Boot, Django, or Express.js.
• Database Knowledge: Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Cloud & DevOps: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues efficiently.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
