Role Overview

Goldman Sachs is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our Global Banking Markets team in Riyadh as a Vice President. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge software solutions that power our Equity Electronic Trading platforms. Your expertise will play a critical role in enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and performance of our trading systems, ensuring we deliver exceptional value to our clients across global markets.

Key Responsibilities

• System Development & Innovation: Lead the end-to-end development of software applications that support electronic trading in equities, including algorithmic trading strategies, execution engines, and risk management tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for innovation and optimization.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning. Act as a subject matter expert in software architecture, design patterns, and best practices to ensure scalable and robust solutions.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze system performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement enhancements that improve latency, throughput, and overall trading efficiency. Work closely with infrastructure teams to ensure seamless deployment and integration of software components.
• Risk Management & Compliance: Develop and maintain software solutions that adhere to stringent regulatory requirements and risk management policies. Ensure that all trading systems comply with global financial regulations and internal governance standards.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with business stakeholders, traders, and quantitative researchers to understand evolving market needs and translate them into technical requirements. Facilitate clear communication between technical and non-technical teams to align on project goals and deliverables.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Oversee the testing and validation of software releases to ensure reliability, security, and compliance with functional specifications. Implement automated testing frameworks to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the quality assurance process.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a strong foundation in software engineering principles, with a focus on developing high-performance trading systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering complex software solutions in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.

• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python, with experience in low-latency systems and high-frequency trading environments. Familiarity with distributed systems, concurrency, and real-time data processing is highly desirable.
• Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required. A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in software development, preferably within the financial services or trading technology sectors, is essential. Prior experience in a Vice President or equivalent leadership role is a strong plus.
• Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities to diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective solutions. Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
