Key Responsibilities
As a Technical Engineer specializing in Infrastructure & Earthworks, your core responsibilities will include:
- Technical Documentation & Submittals: Review and interpret design drawings, project specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) to develop and prepare accurate shop drawings and technical submittals in alignment with project requirements.
- Earthwork Calculations & Modeling: Perform detailed volume calculations for excavation (cut) and filling (fill), generate cross-sections, and prepare grading plans using advanced civil engineering software such as Civil 3D. Ensure precision in all quantity take-offs and earthwork modeling.
- Technical Coordination & Query Resolution: Act as a liaison between the technical office and site execution teams, consultants, and subcontractors. Address technical queries through Requests for Information (RFIs) and resolve design discrepancies to maintain project continuity and compliance.
- Method Statements & Compliance Reporting: Develop comprehensive method statements for earthworks and infrastructure utilities, prepare material submittals, and compile technical compliance reports to support project approvals and audits.
- Documentation & Record Management: Maintain a robust and organized system for tracking drawings, approvals, submittals, and technical correspondence. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date, accessible, and compliant with internal and regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications and professional standards:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Surveying Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Professional Accreditation: Must be a registered member of the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE).
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
- Certifications (Preferred): Possession of PMP (Project Management Professional) or BIM (Building Information Modeling) certification is considered advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on technical office engineering experience, with a proven track record in major civil infrastructure projects, mass earthworks, and land development initiatives.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of soil mechanics, earthwork quantity estimation, and site technical coordination processes.
