Job Purpose
As the Associate Director - Compliance, you will lead RSG’s compliance framework, ensuring that our operations across corporate functions and subsidiaries adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal governance requirements. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement, while supporting RSG’s mission to create a sustainable and regenerative future. This role demands a strategic mindset, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep commitment to upholding the highest standards of compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will encompass a broad spectrum of compliance-related activities, including:
- Compliance Monitoring and Oversight: Lead the execution of compliance monitoring activities across assigned business areas, ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, internal policies, and governance requirements. Develop and implement robust monitoring plans to identify and mitigate compliance risks proactively.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Drive the creation, implementation, and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures, and supporting documentation to promote consistency and excellence in compliance practices across RSG and its subsidiaries.
- Regulatory and Non-Regulatory Compliance: Manage regulatory and non-regulatory compliance obligations by coordinating compliance activities, tracking evolving requirements, and ensuring timely implementation of regulatory changes to maintain operational resilience.
- Compliance Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive compliance risk assessments to identify, prioritize, and mitigate risks. Develop risk-based monitoring plans and mitigation strategies to safeguard RSG’s operations and reputation.
- Compliance Reviews and Investigations: Oversee compliance reviews, assessments, and testing activities to identify gaps, breaches, or areas of non-compliance. Ensure thorough investigations, remediation, and continuous monitoring to closure, maintaining a high standard of accountability.
- Reporting and Governance: Manage the preparation and coordination of compliance reports, regulatory submissions, and governance updates for senior management, committees, and relevant authorities. Ensure transparency and accuracy in all reporting activities.
- Integrity and Governance Systems: Oversee the administration of governance disclosure processes, integrity register activities, and the Entity Management System to ensure compliance with statutory and internal requirements, fostering a culture of ethical behavior and accountability.
- Training and Awareness: Lead the development and delivery of compliance awareness initiatives, communications, and training programs to strengthen organizational integrity and ensure all employees understand their compliance obligations.
- Record Management: Maintain accurate, secure, and auditable records of compliance activities, investigations, and regulatory obligations. Support effective documentation and reporting practices to ensure compliance with audit and regulatory standards.
- Process Improvement and Best Practices: Drive the continuous enhancement of the Compliance function by identifying opportunities for process improvements, maintaining applicable ISO standards, and implementing industry best practices to elevate compliance operations.
Managerial Responsibilities
In addition to your compliance leadership role, you will be responsible for:
- Strategic Contribution: Provide input to the Department’s strategy from a Section or Unit perspective, ensuring alignment with RSG’s vision, mission, and long-term objectives.
- Operational Planning: Develop the Section or Unit’s objectives, KPIs, and annual operational plans, ensuring implementation meets performance targets and drives measurable outcomes.
- Budget Management: Contribute to the preparation of the Section or Unit’s budget and monitor financial performance to ensure efficient resource allocation and cost-effective operations.
- Policy Implementation: Implement and ensure adherence to Section or Unit policies and procedures, overseeing performance and KPI communication to drive accountability and excellence.
- Team Leadership: Ensure effective staffing, development, and deployment of Section or Unit employees in coordination with higher management, fostering a high-performing and motivated team.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, you will possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Corporate Governance, or a related field.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 3–4 years in a managerial or leadership role within compliance, governance, or a related field.
- Technical Competencies: Advanced proficiency in regulatory compliance management, compliance risk assessment and monitoring, compliance framework development, policy development and compliance controls, ISO compliance management systems, and corporate governance and board reporting.
