About the Role

Sigmentech Ventures is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team based in Riyadh. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, and optimization of our organization’s IT infrastructure. As a Systems Administrator, you will play a critical part in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our systems, enabling seamless business operations and supporting our strategic growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

The Systems Administrator will be tasked with a diverse range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• System Maintenance and Monitoring: Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain servers, networks, and associated hardware to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance. Implement and enforce system security protocols to safeguard against potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Infrastructure Management: Deploy, configure, and manage enterprise-level IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, virtualization platforms, and cloud services. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable solutions that align with business objectives.
• Software and Application Support: Install, update, and manage software applications, ensuring compatibility and functionality across the organization. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, resolving issues promptly to minimize operational disruptions.
• Backup and Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery plans to protect critical data and ensure business continuity. Regularly test and validate recovery procedures to mitigate risks associated with data loss or system failures.
• Network Administration: Oversee the configuration, management, and security of the organization’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Monitor network performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and systems. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
• Compliance and Governance: Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies related to IT governance, data privacy, and cybersecurity. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux), virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools is a plus.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently. A proactive approach to identifying potential problems and implementing preventive measures.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and convey technical concepts clearly.
• Adaptability and Learning Agility: Commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends. Flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs and technological advancements.
