About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Procurement Manager to oversee and optimize our procurement operations in Saudi Arabia. This pivotal role will drive the acquisition of high-quality materials, equipment, services, and subcontractors while ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with our company’s operational and financial objectives. As a key contributor to project success, you will play an instrumental part in enhancing our supply chain performance and supporting the seamless execution of projects across the region.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that align with our corporate goals and operational plans. Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Sourcing and Procurement: Lead the procurement of construction materials, equipment, machinery, and services required for projects and corporate operations, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Supplier and Subcontractor Management: Establish, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors. Regularly evaluate their performance to ensure they meet our company’s expectations and contractual obligations.
- Contract Negotiation and Commercial Agreements: Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms to secure the best value for the company while mitigating risks and ensuring favorable terms.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Project Management, Engineering, and Cost Control teams to align procurement activities with project timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
- Supplier Prequalification and Evaluation: Oversee the prequalification, evaluation, and approval processes for suppliers and subcontractors to ensure they meet our company’s standards and regulatory requirements.
- Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement: Track procurement key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving overall procurement processes.
- Market Analysis and Cost Optimization: Monitor market trends, material pricing, and industry developments to identify cost-saving opportunities and support data-driven purchasing decisions.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure strict adherence to company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations throughout all procurement activities to mitigate risks and maintain operational integrity.
- Inventory and Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with relevant departments to manage inventory levels, ensuring material availability while minimizing waste and excess stock.
- Reporting and Strategic Insights: Prepare comprehensive procurement reports and provide actionable recommendations to senior management to support informed decision-making.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team to enhance performance, productivity, and professional growth.
- Budget and Planning Contributions: Participate in budget preparation, procurement planning, and sourcing strategies for current and future projects to ensure alignment with financial and operational goals.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Proven track record in procurement within the construction industry, with a focus on roads, infrastructure, or building projects.
- In-depth knowledge of contract management, supply chain operations, and supplier prequalification processes.
- Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and procurement management software to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing procurement team.
- Advanced negotiation skills, enabling you to secure favorable terms with suppliers and manage contracts effectively.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex procurement challenges and drive continuous improvement.
