Position Overview

This critical role is designed for a Saudi National with a strong background in railway signaling systems, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of modern transportation networks. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced signaling systems while contributing to the development of cutting-edge mobility infrastructure in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• System Design and Development: Lead the design, integration, and optimization of complex signaling systems, including ATP (Automatic Train Protection), ATC (Automatic Train Control), and interlocking systems, in compliance with international standards such as CENELEC, EN, and IEC.
• Project Leadership: Oversee the full lifecycle of signaling projects, from initial feasibility studies and conceptual design to implementation, testing, and commissioning, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
• Technical Expertise: Provide specialized technical guidance on signaling technologies, including CBTC (Communication-Based Train Control), ETCS (European Train Control System), and PTC (Positive Train Control), while staying abreast of emerging trends and innovations in the industry.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including civil engineers, software developers, and project managers, as well as external stakeholders such as government authorities, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure seamless project execution and compliance with local and international regulations.
• Risk Assessment and Safety Compliance: Conduct thorough risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards, mitigate risks, and ensure that all signaling systems meet stringent safety and performance standards, including RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety) requirements.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical documentation, including system specifications, test plans, and compliance reports, and present findings to senior management and clients with clarity and precision.
• Mentorship and Training: Support the professional development of junior engineers and technical staff by providing mentorship, training, and knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance team capabilities and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in railway signaling systems, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role, preferably within the Middle East or similar dynamic markets.
• In-depth knowledge of signaling system architectures, including ATP, ATC, interlocking, and train detection systems, with hands-on experience in their design, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software tools such as CAD, PLC programming, and simulation platforms (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of safety and regulatory standards, including CENELEC EN 50126/50128/50129, IEC 61508, and local Saudi Arabian railway regulations.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in Arabic is a strong advantage.
• Valid Saudi Nationality is a mandatory requirement for this position.
