Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our team in Riyadh on a full-time, on-site basis. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations. Your responsibilities will extend to preparing accurate financial statements, monitoring budgets, and actively participating in monthly and annual closing processes. The ideal candidate will ensure strict adherence to accounting standards, internal policies, and local regulatory requirements while maintaining meticulous financial records.

The Accountant will also play a key role in financial analysis, generating insightful reports for management, and collaborating with auditors and other stakeholders to facilitate seamless financial operations. This position demands a high level of accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Transaction Management: Process and record accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• General Ledger & Reconciliation: Maintain the general ledger, perform bank reconciliations, and reconcile intercompany accounts to ensure financial accuracy.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
• Budgeting & Cost Control: Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets, analyze variances, and provide recommendations to optimize financial performance.
• Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure adherence to local and international accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies. Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct basic financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, operations, and senior management, to provide financial insights and support business objectives.
• Record Keeping & Documentation: Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, ensuring easy retrieval and compliance with audit requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in core accounting functions, including bookkeeping, general ledger management, and financial reporting. Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced spreadsheet skills (e.g., Excel).
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS), tax regulations, and compliance requirements applicable to the region.
• Analytical & Organizational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Arabic is considered an advantage.
• Industry Experience: Prior experience in accounting roles within trading, distribution, or healthcare-related sectors is beneficial but not mandatory.
