Role Overview

The Senior PMO & Business Transformation position is a critical leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, serving as the primary strategic partner in translating organizational vision into actionable execution. This role is entrusted with the CEO’s mandate to foster cross-functional alignment, ensuring that strategic initiatives are not only prioritized but also delivered with precision and accountability. Operating at the nexus of strategy and operational delivery, this position is responsible for orchestrating enterprise-wide initiatives, optimizing agile delivery frameworks, and driving business transformation through AI-enabled process improvements. The role demands a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks, resolving interdependencies, and ensuring that all critical initiatives progress without disruption.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Act as the CEO’s operational right hand, converting high-level strategic objectives into structured, measurable plans with clear ownership, timelines, and accountability frameworks.
• PMO Excellence: Establish, refine, and lead the FlyAkeed Project Management Office (PMO), defining governance standards, frameworks, and best practices to elevate project delivery across the organization.
• Portfolio Oversight: Maintain a comprehensive view of all organizational initiatives, identifying interdependencies, resource constraints, and potential risks to ensure seamless execution.
• Agile Governance: Spearhead the development and enforcement of FlyAkeed’s Agile Playbook, providing guidance to Scrum Masters, monitoring sprint performance, and ensuring delivery excellence across all squads.
• Business Transformation: Lead end-to-end process improvement initiatives spanning technology, product development, operations, customer success, human resources, and finance to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• AI Integration: Champion the adoption of AI-enabled tools and workflows within the PMO and operational functions, driving innovation in project management and process automation.
• Quality Assurance & Risk Management: Oversee quality control practices across all delivery teams, including defect management, release readiness, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Systems & Tools Governance: Manage the configuration, workflow design, and integrations of Jira, ensuring seamless collaboration with platforms such as Slack, GitHub, and Notion to support agile and hybrid delivery models.
• Team Development: Directly supervise and mentor Scrum Masters and the PMO Coordinator, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, skill development, and high-performance delivery.

Requirements

• Proven Leadership: Extensive experience in senior PMO leadership, project management, or operational leadership, with a track record of driving results across multiple business functions.
• Transformation Expertise: Demonstrated success in leading business transformation, agile adoption, or operational improvement initiatives within technology-driven organizations.
• Executive Collaboration: Experience partnering with C-suite executives, influencing strategic decisions, and driving accountability without direct authority.
• People Management: Strong background in managing and developing delivery practitioners, project coordinators, and cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth experience with Jira configuration and administration, including workflow design, custom fields, and integrations to support diverse project types.
• AI Acumen: Familiarity with AI tools and their application in project management, workflow optimization, and process automation.
• Cultural Agility: Ability to thrive in culturally diverse and geographically distributed teams, fostering collaboration and alignment across global stakeholders.
• Advisory Background: Prior experience in consulting or advisory roles is highly advantageous, providing strategic insights and best practices to enhance organizational performance.
