Cybersecurity Architect (Service Now)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Architecture Engineer (Resident Engineer) with extensive hands-on experience in ServiceNow to join our client’s cybersecurity architecture and security operations team. This role is a critical on-site position, serving as the primary technical liaison for managing cybersecurity workflows, requests, incidents, and change processes through ServiceNow. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the client’s cybersecurity architecture team to enhance security operations, streamline workflows, and ensure robust protection of the organization’s digital assets.

Key Responsibilities

The Cybersecurity Architecture Engineer will be responsible for the following duties while stationed at the client site:

• On-Site Resident Engineering: Act as the primary point of contact for cybersecurity architecture and security operations, providing expert guidance and support to the client’s internal teams.
• ServiceNow Administration: Manage and administer cybersecurity workflows within ServiceNow, including Incident, Change, Request, and Problem Management, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and compliance requirements.
• Ticket Lifecycle Management: Create, track, update, and close security-related tickets in ServiceNow while adhering to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and escalating issues as necessary to maintain operational efficiency.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams through ServiceNow to resolve security requests, incidents, and changes in a timely and effective manner.
• Security Architecture Support: Assist in the implementation and operational activities of cybersecurity architecture initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise security standards and best practices.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, records, and reports within ServiceNow to support audit requirements, compliance assessments, and operational transparency.
• Security Assessments and Reviews: Participate in security assessments, change reviews, and implementation activities to identify risks, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for improvement in cybersecurity processes.
• Process Adherence: Ensure that cybersecurity processes are consistently followed and properly documented within ServiceNow, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Issue Escalation: Identify and escalate complex technical issues to senior cybersecurity architects or engineering teams, providing detailed analysis and recommendations for resolution.

Required Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or security operations, with a proven track record in hands-on technical roles.
• ServiceNow Expertise: Mandatory hands-on experience with ServiceNow, including proficiency in:
  • Incident Management
  • Change Management
  • Request Management
  • Problem Management
  • IT Service Management (ITSM) workflows
• Cybersecurity Knowledge: A strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, enterprise security operations, and security architecture concepts, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practical scenarios.
• Analytical and Communication Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities, troubleshooting expertise, and strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Client-Facing Capabilities: The ability to work independently in a resident engineer role, demonstrating professionalism, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills in a client-facing environment.
