Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Internal Medicine Registrar to join our team at Nahdi Care Clinics (NCC) in Khamis Mushait. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, providing comprehensive patient care, and contributing to the overall health and well-being of our community. As a Registrar, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional healthcare services while adhering to the highest professional and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Internal Medicine Registrar will play a central role in patient care and management, with duties including but not limited to:

  • Patient Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough examinations of patients, document clinical findings accurately, and develop individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based medicine.
  • Treatment and Medication Management: Prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and ensure patients receive appropriate and timely medical interventions.
  • Patient Education and Counseling: Educate patients on their health conditions, required investigations, treatment options, and preventive healthcare measures. Provide guidance on diet, hygiene, and lifestyle modifications to promote long-term wellness.
  • Collaborative Care: Work closely with other departments, local agencies, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless coordination and continuity of care for patients.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Adhere to all NCC policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including those set by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) and the Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI). Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits to maintain the highest standards of care.
  • Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development through participation in educational activities such as rounds, conferences, lectures, and journal clubs. Mentor junior staff and contribute to the ongoing training and growth of the medical team.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensure compliance with fire safety requirements, and fulfill all obligations related to clinical documentation and reporting.

Accountabilities

As an Internal Medicine Registrar, your accountabilities will include:

  • Assessing patients and documenting clinical findings in a timely and precise manner.
  • Designing and executing comprehensive patient care plans in alignment with clinical guidelines and best practices.
  • Ordering and reviewing diagnostic investigations to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Prescribing medications and monitoring patient responses to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes.
  • Educating patients and their families on health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management.
  • Actively participating in NCC committees, task forces, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical services.
  • Adhering to the mission, vision, goals, and practice guidelines of NCC while integrating population health factors such as heritage, environment, and disease prevalence into patient care.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, including CBAHI and SCFHS requirements.

Specialty Tasks and Privileges

This role offers the opportunity to perform specialty-specific tasks based on your training, experience, and clinical privileges as outlined by the Saudi Health Council. Responsibilities may include advanced diagnostic procedures, specialized treatments, and participation in multidisciplinary case discussions to optimize patient outcomes.

Work Environment and Schedule

The Internal Medicine Registrar will work in a fully indoor clinical setting, with a structured schedule of six working days per week and one designated day off. Working hours are eight net hours per day, following a shift schedule approved by the Head of Department. This role requires a commitment to excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from a recognized university, along with a Master’s degree in Internal Medicine or a related specialty. Alternatively, a Fellowship with SCFHS approval will be considered.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years of clinical experience following the completion of a Master’s degree or eligibility to sit for the board examination in the specialty.
  • Licensure: A valid SCFHS license as a Registrar in Internal Medicine or a related specialty.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in office and health information systems to manage patient records and clinical data efficiently.
  • Languages: Fluency in both English and Arabic, both written and spoken, to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare teams.
