Design Engineer - Electrical (Saudi National)

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• System Design and Development: Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and instrumentation. Ensure designs are efficient, scalable, and compliant with international and local codes such as NEC, IEC, and Saudi Aramco standards.
• Project Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including civil, mechanical, and structural engineers, to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into broader project frameworks. Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and coordination meetings to ensure alignment with project goals.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports. Utilize industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, or similar tools to produce accurate and detailed deliverables.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all electrical designs comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and project-specific requirements. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to minimize hazards and enhance operational reliability.
• Innovation and Optimization: Drive continuous improvement by researching emerging technologies, materials, and methodologies to enhance system performance, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Propose innovative solutions that align with Parsons’ commitment to sustainability and technological advancement.
• Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a technical liaison with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure project milestones are met. Present design proposals, progress updates, and technical presentations to stakeholders with clarity and professionalism.
• Quality Assurance: Review and validate designs for accuracy, feasibility, and constructability. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to conduct inspections, tests, and audits to ensure adherence to project specifications and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE, or CEng) are advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering design, preferably within the infrastructure, oil & gas, or industrial sectors. Experience with large-scale projects in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Profound knowledge of electrical design principles, codes, and standards. Proficiency in industry-leading software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, or similar platforms. Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes is a plus.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of local and international electrical codes, including NEC, IEC, and Saudi Aramco standards. Awareness of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations is essential.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is preferred but not mandatory.
• Certifications: Valid Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration or eligibility for registration is mandatory for this role.
