Role Overview

As a Duty Supervisor - JED at Etihad Airways, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational excellence and passenger satisfaction at the Jeddah (JED) station. This position requires a dynamic professional who can oversee daily operations, manage a team of staff, and uphold the highest standards of service delivery. The Duty Supervisor will act as the primary point of contact for resolving on-ground issues, coordinating with various departments, and maintaining compliance with company policies and aviation regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Oversight: Monitor and supervise all ground handling operations at Jeddah Airport, including aircraft turnaround, baggage handling, and passenger services, to ensure efficiency and adherence to schedules.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of ground staff, providing clear direction, performance feedback, and support to foster a high-performance culture.
• Issue Resolution: Act as the first responder to operational disruptions, such as delays, cancellations, or customer complaints, by implementing corrective actions and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to minimize impact.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure strict adherence to Etihad Airways’ safety protocols, health regulations, and operational procedures, including conducting regular audits and risk assessments to mitigate potential hazards.
• Customer Service Excellence: Uphold Etihad Airways’ reputation for exceptional service by addressing passenger concerns promptly, ensuring smooth boarding and disembarkation processes, and maintaining a welcoming environment at the airport.
• Communication and Coordination: Serve as a liaison between ground handling teams, flight crews, airport authorities, and other departments to facilitate seamless operations and resolve any logistical challenges.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit detailed reports on operational performance, incidents, and staff activities to senior management, ensuring accurate and timely communication of key metrics and trends.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a combination of relevant experience, leadership abilities, and industry knowledge. The ideal candidate will have:

• A bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in the aviation industry.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in ground operations, airport management, or a similar supervisory role within the airline industry.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering results under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English; additional language proficiency is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, safety standards, and ground handling procedures.
• Proficiency in using aviation-specific software and tools for operational management and reporting.
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate operational demands.
