Role Purpose

The Accountant role is integral to the financial and accounting operations at the local country level, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial management. This position plays a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of financial records, preparing financial statements, and supporting audit and compliance activities to uphold the organization’s financial health and regulatory adherence.

Key Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping, Trial Balance, and Financial Statement Preparation:

  Responsible for posting general ledger entries, maintaining accurate trial balances, and preparing financial statements using the ERP system. This includes ensuring the integrity of financial data to facilitate seamless audit processes and regulatory reporting.

• GST/VAT Compliance:

  Demonstrates a thorough understanding of tax laws in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to prepare and submit quarterly and annual tax filings. Prepares tax schedules, applies tax rules accurately, and assists in the preparation of tax reports and returns to ensure full compliance with local regulations.

• Collection and Receipt Reconciliation:

  Exercises professional judgment and precision in determining appropriate accounting procedures for transaction research, record preparation, and reporting. Reconciles daily collection receipts, compiles entries for general ledger accounts, and documents accounting transactions in alignment with internal and external stakeholder requirements.

• Audit Support:

  Actively participates in the preparation, discussion, and support of external audits in collaboration with the finance manager and auditors. Ensures all financial records are audit-ready and addresses any discrepancies or inquiries promptly and accurately.

• Compliance and Policy Adherence:

  Applies IDP’s financial policies and procedures rigorously, identifying inconsistencies or potential issues and escalating them to management for resolution. Ensures all financial activities align with regulatory standards and organizational guidelines.

• Additional Projects:

  Undertakes ad-hoc financial projects as assigned, contributing to process improvements, financial analysis, and strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and financial performance.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Equivalent qualifications such as the Associate of the University of Cambridge (AUC) or an English Section degree are also accepted.
• Technical Proficiency: Proven experience with ERP systems and financial applications is essential. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a mandatory requirement for data analysis, reporting, and financial modeling.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, financial reporting, financial data analysis, auditing, and taxation. A strong foundation in accounting principles and practices is required.
