Key Responsibilities

As a Cost Controller - MRO, your core responsibilities will include:

• Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and control MRO budgets to align with organizational financial objectives. Prepare accurate forecasts and variance analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate financial risks.
• Expenditure Tracking: Oversee and validate MRO-related expenditures, ensuring compliance with approved budgets and company policies. Review invoices, purchase orders, and contracts to confirm accuracy and legitimacy of costs.
• Cost Optimization: Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and operations teams to identify cost-reduction strategies without compromising quality or safety standards. Analyze spending patterns and recommend improvements to enhance financial performance.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including monthly MRO cost summaries, trend analyses, and performance metrics. Present findings to senior management to support data-driven decision-making.
• Compliance and Audit Support: Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for MRO expenditures.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, logistics, and project management, to streamline MRO processes and align financial goals with operational objectives.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the following skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CMA, CPA, or CIMA are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in cost control, financial analysis, or accounting, with at least 2 years specifically in MRO cost management within the maritime, oil & gas, or industrial sectors.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with financial software for reporting and analysis. Knowledge of MRO-specific accounting practices is a plus.
• Analytical Abilities: Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret complex financial data to derive actionable insights.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to present financial information clearly and persuasively to stakeholders at all levels.
• Soft Skills: Highly organized, proactive, and capable of working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities are essential.
