Treasury Accountant

Position Overview

In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in managing the company’s treasury operations, ensuring liquidity, optimizing cash flow, and maintaining financial stability. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in treasury management, accounting principles, and financial reporting, with a keen eye for accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Cash Management: Oversee daily cash positioning, forecasting, and liquidity management to ensure the company meets its financial obligations while maximizing investment opportunities. Monitor cash flows, reconcile bank accounts, and maintain accurate cash records.
• Treasury Operations: Execute and record treasury transactions, including wire transfers, foreign exchange (FX) dealings, and debt issuances. Collaborate with banking partners to facilitate seamless transactions and negotiate favorable terms for financial services.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual treasury reports, including cash flow statements, liquidity ratios, and variance analyses. Ensure compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements.
• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, such as interest rate fluctuations, currency exposure, and counterparty risks. Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard the company’s financial assets.
• Compliance and Audit Support: Ensure adherence to internal policies, external regulations, and audit requirements. Assist in preparing documentation and responding to inquiries from internal and external auditors.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, legal, and operations, to align treasury strategies with overall business objectives. Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making.
• Technology and Systems: Utilize treasury management systems (TMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and improve financial controls. Stay updated on emerging technologies and tools in treasury management.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or CTP is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in treasury accounting, cash management, or a related finance role, preferably within a corporate or consultancy environment.
• Proficient knowledge of treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting, FX management, and debt structuring.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and present complex financial information clearly.
• Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and treasury management systems. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and advanced financial modeling is essential.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
