Civil Engineer - Transportation Planning & Traffic Engineering (Saudi Arabia)

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Data Analysis & Modeling: Utilize advanced software tools (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM, AutoCAD Civil 3D) to analyze traffic patterns, simulate scenarios, and optimize transportation networks for efficiency and safety.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to Saudi Arabian regulations, environmental guidelines, and best practices in transportation engineering.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with government agencies, contractors, and community stakeholders to gather input, present findings, and secure project approvals.
• Sustainability & Innovation: Integrate sustainable practices into transportation projects, such as green infrastructure, alternative energy solutions, and smart mobility initiatives, to support environmental goals.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and presentations to communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders and senior management.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation or Traffic Engineering; a Master’s degree is a plus.
• Professional Licensure: Valid engineering license (e.g., P.E. or equivalent) and membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., Saudi Council of Engineers).
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in transportation planning and traffic engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, VISSIM, Synchro, ArcGIS).
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering, or a related field, with a proven track record in project delivery.
• Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative and analytical abilities to interpret data, identify trends, and develop data-driven solutions.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and present complex ideas clearly.
• Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to identifying challenges and implementing innovative solutions to optimize transportation systems.
