Project Engineer(Offshore)

Position Overview

Penspen, a globally recognized leader in engineering, asset integrity, and project delivery solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer (Offshore) to join our dynamic team based in Khafji, Saudi Arabia. This critical role demands a seasoned professional with expertise in offshore oil and gas projects, capable of overseeing engineering tasks, managing construction and fabrication, and ensuring compliance with industry-leading standards such as API, ASME, and other relevant codes. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the successful execution of major offshore projects, contributing to Penspen’s reputation for excellence in the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering Oversight: Lead and supervise engineering activities, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Apply specialized knowledge of standards such as API, ASME, and other applicable codes to deliver robust and compliant engineering solutions.
• Project Management: Manage construction and fabrication activities, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution. Oversee procurement processes to secure high-quality materials and equipment while maintaining project budgets and schedules.
• Contract Administration: Facilitate contract administration, including the review, negotiation, and execution of contracts to mitigate risks and ensure alignment with project objectives. Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to resolve contractual issues and optimize project outcomes.
• Technical Coordination: Provide expert technical support and coordination across multiple project phases, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Act as a liaison between engineering, operations, and client teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control measures to uphold the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance in offshore installations. Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to foster collaboration and ensure project success. Communicate effectively to address technical challenges and align project goals with stakeholder expectations.

Qualifications and Experience

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following educational and professional criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or related field) with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in offshore oil and gas projects. OR
• Alternative Pathway: A Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or related field) with a minimum of fourteen (14) years of progressive experience in offshore oil and gas projects.

Candidates with prior experience in ARAMCO projects will be given preference, as this demonstrates familiarity with the technical and operational challenges specific to the region. Proficiency in industry-standard software tools for engineering design, project management, and contract administration is highly desirable.
