Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Transportation Planning & Traffic Engineer to join our dynamic team in Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will lead and contribute to the development, evaluation, and implementation of comprehensive transportation planning and traffic engineering solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning: Develop and oversee long-term transportation planning initiatives, including feasibility studies, demand forecasting, and multimodal transportation strategies to enhance mobility and reduce congestion.
• Traffic Engineering Analysis: Conduct detailed traffic impact assessments, signal timing optimization, and intersection design to improve safety and operational efficiency. Utilize advanced modeling software to simulate traffic scenarios and propose data-driven solutions.
• Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams to deliver transportation projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to technical standards, regulatory requirements, and budgetary constraints. Collaborate with government agencies, contractors, and stakeholders to secure project approvals and permits.
• Infrastructure Design: Design and review transportation infrastructure, including roadways, intersections, roundabouts, and pedestrian/bicycle facilities, with a focus on safety, accessibility, and sustainability.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local, national, and international transportation regulations, codes, and best practices. Stay abreast of emerging trends and technological advancements in the field.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders, including government officials, community groups, and private sector partners, to facilitate transparent communication and alignment on project objectives.
• Innovation and Sustainability: Drive the integration of innovative solutions such as smart traffic management systems, electric vehicle infrastructure, and sustainable transportation modes to future-proof infrastructure investments.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and technical documentation to communicate project progress, findings, and recommendations to internal and external audiences.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess a strong academic background and extensive professional experience in transportation engineering and planning. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is highly desirable.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification in transportation engineering.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering, with a proven track record of leading complex projects.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software tools such as Synchro, VISSIM, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and traffic simulation models.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with the capacity to manage multidisciplinary teams and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Saudi Arabian transportation regulations, standards, and infrastructure challenges is a significant advantage.
