Head of Finance

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Finance to lead the financial operations of a high-growth, multi-national organization in the real estate, hospitality, and branded residences sectors. Based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this pivotal role will report to the MENA Leadership Team and play a critical part in shaping the financial strategy, operational rigor, and scalable infrastructure required to support sustainable growth across the region. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on finance leader capable of bridging strategic vision with operational execution, driving performance, and ensuring robust financial governance in a fast-paced, founder-led environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Head of Finance will be responsible for a broad spectrum of financial leadership, operational oversight, and strategic decision-making. Core responsibilities include:

• Financial Strategy & Planning:
  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company’s regional growth objectives and global financial goals.
  • Lead the forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning processes to ensure financial sustainability and scalability.
  • Deliver accurate, timely, and insightful monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership, investors, and stakeholders.
  • Establish and monitor key financial and operational performance indicators to drive data-driven decision-making.
• Capital Allocation & Financial Leadership:
  • Drive capital allocation decisions through advanced financial modeling, scenario analysis, and macroeconomic insights.
  • Support fundraising initiatives, banking relationships, and strategic financing activities to fuel growth initiatives.
  • Frame the optimal capital stack for MENA projects, including equity, project debt, and joint venture/mezzanine financing structures.
• Financial Controls & Compliance:
  • Ensure robust financial governance by implementing and monitoring effective controls, policies, and compliance processes.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, regulators, tax advisors, and investors to maintain transparency and regulatory adherence.
  • Guarantee compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS), Saudi regulatory frameworks (SOCPA/ZATCA), VAT, e-invoicing, and other applicable standards.
• Operational Finance & Reporting:
  • Own the general ledger integrity, reconciliations, and the monthly financial close process (targeting 5 business days or fewer) for KSA entities.
  • Maintain a dynamic 13-week rolling cash-flow model, updated weekly, while overseeing banking operations and KYC compliance.
  • Build and own a driver-based operating model that translates unit economics into site-level P&L and regional consolidation.
  • Run scenario planning for pricing, staffing, capital expenditures, and launch cadence, producing a weekly MENA Cash & KPI pack for leadership review.
  • Coordinate with Property Accounting teams to ensure accurate building-level financial statements are integrated into KSA/MENA reporting frameworks.
• Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance organization capable of supporting regional growth and operational demands.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Product, Development, Legal, and People teams to align financial strategies with business objectives.
  • Elevate systems and processes across accounting, expense management, and business intelligence tools to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Professional Background: 8–12 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role within high-growth, multi-national environments.
• Education & Certifications:
  • MBA or an advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or SOCPA, with deep expertise in IFRS and SOCPA/ZATCA standards.
• Technical & Analytical Skills:
  • Hands-on experience in treasury and cash management, including stewardship of senior banking relationships in Saudi Arabia.
  • Proven ability to develop financial models, processes, and controls from the ground up, with a focus on scalability and automation.
  • Strong financial planning, analysis, and reporting capabilities, coupled with a strategic, data-driven mindset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets, with familiarity in modern finance systems, automation tools, and AI-enabled solutions.
• Leadership & Soft Skills:
  • Experience in fundraising, capital markets, or investor relations, whether in early-stage or late-stage environments.
  • Comfort operating in founder-led, fast-paced, and ambiguous settings with a high degree of autonomy and ownership.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with fluency in both English and Arabic, and the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior exposure to property accounting, development pro-formas, or real estate/prop-tech industries is a plus.
