About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned and meticulous Contract Administrator to join our esteemed Project and Construction Management team based in Riyadh. This pivotal position is embedded within our Infrastructure Division, where you will play a critical role in overseeing large-scale civil engineering and transportation projects, with a primary focus on roads, highways, bridges, and tunnels in urban settings. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring seamless contractual execution, compliance adherence, and effective change management throughout the project lifecycle. This role demands a proactive approach to mitigating risks, managing costs, and fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and third parties.

Key Responsibilities

As a Contract Administrator, you will serve as a vital support to the Contract Manager, overseeing all contractual aspects of the project with precision and diligence. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Contractual Compliance and Management: Ensuring strict adherence to contractual obligations, including the review of incoming correspondence to assess commercial impacts, identify potential issues, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Change Management: Assisting in the evaluation and implementation of change proposals, ensuring they align with project objectives and contractual terms while minimizing disruptions.
  • Cost Reporting and Control: Preparing accurate and timely cost reports, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring financial transparency to safeguard the client’s commercial interests.
  • Claims Administration: Reviewing and administering consultants’ and contractors’ claims, including the assessment of their validity and negotiation of resolutions to prevent escalation.
  • Procurement and Payments: Supporting the application and payment processes to ensure accuracy, compliance with contractual terms, and timely disbursement of funds.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborating with quality control teams to uphold the highest standards of workmanship and deliver exceptional results to the client.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitating effective communication and collaboration between the Contract Manager, discipline managers, consultants, and contractors to align project goals and resolve issues proactively.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Drafting contractual communications, maintaining comprehensive records, and preparing detailed reports to support decision-making and compliance audits.

Your Profile

To excel in this role, you must possess a robust academic and professional background in contract administration, coupled with extensive experience in mega civil infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Education and Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Quantity Surveying, or a related field, supplemented by formal affiliations with recognized professional bodies such as RICS, IQS, ICES, or CIOB.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in project management, with a strong focus on mega construction projects, preferably as a consultant. Experience in the transportation sector, particularly with roads and highways, is highly desirable.
  • Technical Knowledge: A deep understanding of construction, design, and engineering principles, along with familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is essential, while proficiency in Arabic will be considered a significant advantage in this role.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, report writing, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities, coupled with a high degree of autonomy, flexibility, and technical rigor to thrive in a dynamic and multicultural environment.
  • Additional Requirements: A transferable Iqama (for non-Saudi candidates), residency in Riyadh, and a valid SCE membership are mandatory. Please note that only LinkedIn CVs will be considered for this position; applications submitted directly to our offices will not be accepted.
