Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong technical background in enterprise-scale database management to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in operating and optimizing mission-critical database platforms, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL/MariaDB, and Microsoft SQL Server. This role is exclusively open to Saudi nationals and requires expertise in high availability, performance tuning, disaster recovery, replication, backup and recovery, database security, and production operations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Database Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and security of our database infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:

• Database Management: Administer and maintain PostgreSQL with Patroni, MongoDB replica sets, MySQL/MariaDB, and SQL Server Always On configurations to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage high availability solutions, automated failover mechanisms, replication strategies, and robust backup and disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and data loss.
• Performance Optimization: Conduct thorough performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and capacity planning to enhance database efficiency and responsiveness.
• Database Upgrades & Migrations: Lead and execute database upgrades, migrations, and patching activities to ensure systems remain current, secure, and aligned with business requirements.
• Security & Compliance: Enforce stringent security measures, access controls, auditing protocols, and documentation standards to safeguard sensitive data and ensure regulatory compliance.
• On-Site & On-Call Support: Provide expert technical support at client sites and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to address critical incidents and maintain uninterrupted operations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to align database strategies with organizational goals and support seamless business operations.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator in production environments, with a proven track record in managing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MSSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, high availability, replication, performance tuning, and migrations.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in backup and recovery tools such as pgBackRest, PBM, Percona XtraBackup, and SQL Server native utilities.
• Language Skills: Fluency in both English and Arabic, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Work Schedule: Availability to work from 13:00 to 21:00, Sunday through Thursday, aligning with Saudi Arabia time zone.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and provide responsive support to client operations.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following skills and experiences are considered advantageous:

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes database operators, such as Zalando Patroni Operator or Percona Operators, for scalable and automated database management.
• Familiarity with Redis, Elasticsearch, or other NoSQL and time-series databases to support diverse data storage and processing needs.
• Prior experience working within an ITIL-based environment, demonstrating adherence to best practices in IT service management.
