We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Oncology Pharmacist to join our esteemed healthcare organization in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As a key member of our Oncology Services team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and effective preparation and administration of chemotherapy medications, contributing directly to positive patient outcomes and the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

In this critical position, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Prescription Verification: Thoroughly review and verify chemotherapy prescriptions for accuracy, appropriate dosing, and strict adherence to established oncology protocols. Ensure all prescriptions comply with institutional, national, and international guidelines to minimize risks and maximize therapeutic efficacy.
• Chemotherapy Preparation and Compounding: Prepare and compound chemotherapy medications in full compliance with hazardous drug handling standards, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and specialized containment systems. Maintain meticulous records of all compounding activities to ensure traceability and accountability.
• Safe Dispensing and Medication Safety: Oversee the safe dispensing of oncology medications, ensuring that all processes align with medication safety regulations and institutional policies. Identify potential medication-related issues, such as drug interactions, dosing errors, or adverse reactions, and take proactive measures to resolve them.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care plans. Provide expert pharmaceutical advice, participate in multidisciplinary rounds, and contribute to the development of individualized treatment regimens that prioritize patient safety and therapeutic success.
• Documentation and Quality Assurance: Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date documentation of all pharmacy-related activities. Support quality improvement initiatives, participate in audits, and contribute to accreditation efforts to ensure the organization meets or exceeds regulatory and clinical standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

To qualify for this rewarding opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from a recognized institution.
• Professional Licensure: Possess a valid registration and professional classification from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of two years of recent, hands-on experience in Oncology Pharmacy or Chemotherapy Preparation, with a proven track record in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Technical Knowledge: Exhibit a strong understanding of chemotherapy protocols, hazardous drug handling procedures, and best practices in oncology pharmacy. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and pharmacy management systems is highly desirable.
• Soft Skills: Possess excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork abilities. The ability to collaborate effectively with diverse healthcare teams and convey complex pharmaceutical information in a clear and concise manner is essential.
• Location and Availability: Candidates currently residing in Saudi Arabia are preferred. Immediate availability or the ability to join on short notice is considered a significant advantage.
