Role Overview

The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity of Assystem by overseeing critical accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting strategic financial reporting. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounting, taxation, and financial management, particularly within the context of Saudi Arabia’s regulatory environment. Key Responsibilities

• Financial Record Keeping: Maintain and update the general ledger with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all financial transactions—including journal entries, receipts, and disbursements—are accurately coded and recorded in compliance with established accounting principles.
• Accounts Receivable & Payable Management: Oversee vendor invoicing, verify payment approvals, process accounts payable transactions, and proactively manage aging accounts receivable to facilitate timely collections and maintain healthy cash flow.
• Reconciliations: Conduct thorough monthly bank reconciliations, intercompany balance reconciliations, and subsidiary ledger reviews to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring financial accuracy and transparency.
• Compliance & Taxation: Assist in the preparation and filing of quarterly and monthly VAT returns in strict adherence to the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) regulations. Ensure full compliance with e-invoicing standards and other statutory requirements.
• Month-End & Year-End Closing: Collaborate with the finance team to execute seamless month-end and year-end closing procedures, including the preparation of accruals, prepayments, depreciation schedules, and other necessary adjustments to reflect true financial performance.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare preliminary balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports for executive review, providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Audit Support: Provide comprehensive documentation, schedules, and analytical support to external and internal auditors during annual financial audits, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit process.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably within professional services, engineering consulting, or corporate environments in Saudi Arabia.
• Certifications: Registration with the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants (SOCPA) is highly preferred or required. Progress toward professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA will be considered a significant advantage.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of accounting software and ERP systems, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with ZATCA-compliant e-invoicing systems is a plus.
• Analytical & Communication Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities to interpret financial data, coupled with clear and concise communication skills to present findings to stakeholders at all levels.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Saudi Arabia’s tax laws, VAT regulations, and compliance requirements, including e-invoicing mandates.
