Position Overview

As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for monitoring swimming areas, responding to emergencies, and promoting a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all visitors.

Key Responsibilities

In this critical role, your primary duties will include:

• Ensuring Guest Safety: Utilize appropriate rescue techniques to assist swimmers in distress. Continuously observe the swimming area for hazardous conditions, unusual activities, or guests who may require assistance. Promote and enforce the recreation facility’s safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Emergency Response: Provide immediate assistance to injured or distressed guests until professional medical services arrive. Report all accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management promptly. Complete all required safety training and certifications to maintain compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Guest Engagement: Deliver a fun, relaxing, and memorable experience for guests by maintaining a professional and welcoming demeanor. Assist guests with disabilities and ensure their needs are met with dignity and respect. Acknowledge and thank guests with genuine appreciation to reinforce a positive atmosphere.
• Facility Maintenance: Perform routine tasks such as obtaining, folding, and stacking towels, as well as washing, mopping, and cleaning the pool deck to uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards. Visually inspect tools and equipment to identify any defects that may pose a risk to guest safety.
• Operational Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards. Maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets. Support colleagues with a collaborative and respectful approach, fostering a positive work environment.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including:

• Standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, including entire work shifts.
• Moving at a pace necessary to respond to work situations, such as running, walking, or jogging.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently, and objects exceeding 75 pounds with assistance.
• Grasping, turning, and manipulating objects with fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Navigating sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as climbing ladders, stairs, or service ramps.
• Reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Qualifications and Certifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Certifications: Valid CPR and First Aid certifications are mandatory. Additional certifications or training required by local and state agencies must be obtained.
• Experience: While no prior work experience is required, a strong commitment to safety and guest service is essential.
