Design Manager

About the Role

We are currently seeking a seasoned and visionary Design Manager to lead our architectural and interior design initiatives for high-profile hospitality projects. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in designing and delivering international branded hotels and resorts, overseeing the entire design lifecycle from conceptualization to final execution. This role demands a strategic leader who can harmonize brand standards, regulatory compliance, and design excellence while fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end design process for hospitality projects, including hotels and resorts, ensuring alignment with brand identity, operational efficiency, and aesthetic vision. Guide teams from initial concept development through construction documentation and on-site execution.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison with international hotel operators, brand representatives, and external consultants to ensure seamless integration of brand standards and project-specific requirements. Facilitate clear communication and alignment among all parties involved.
• Design Excellence & Quality Assurance: Review and approve design drawings, material selections, and technical documentation to uphold the highest standards of quality. Ensure that all designs comply with local and international building codes, regulations, and brand guidelines.
• BIM Integration & Coordination: Champion the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes within project workflows. Lead coordination efforts across architectural, interior design, and trade disciplines to optimize efficiency, mitigate risks, and ensure seamless project delivery.
• Regulatory Compliance & Governance: Ensure strict adherence to all applicable building codes, safety standards, and project-specific guidelines. Oversee BIM governance protocols, including Employer’s Information Requirements (EIR), BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and Common Data Environment (CDE) setup, control, and audits.
• Project Controls & Reporting: Provide strategic inputs to project controls reporting, including model quality reviews and compliance assessments. Ensure digital handover readiness by overseeing the preparation of as-built documentation and asset data for seamless operational transition.
• Vendor & Systems Coordination: Collaborate with hospitality systems vendors and internal teams to ensure the integration of functional and operational requirements into the design. Address technical challenges and deliver solutions that enhance guest experience and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
• Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in delivering international branded hospitality projects, including hotels and resorts. A proven track record in leading design teams and managing complex, large-scale projects is essential.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in BIM software (e.g., Revit) and strong working knowledge of CAD tools. Expertise in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation, reporting, and presentations.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of local and international building codes, regulations, and design guidelines. Experience in implementing BIM governance frameworks and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and vendors. Strong presentation and reporting capabilities to convey complex design concepts and project updates effectively.
