الوصف الوظيفي

Role Overview

As a Disaster Recovery Expert, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the organization’s critical IT services, infrastructure, and business operations by designing, implementing, and maintaining robust Disaster Recovery (DR) and Data Center resilience capabilities. This position requires a strategic mindset, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to ensuring seamless continuity during disruptive events. You will serve as the primary coordinator for all DR-related activities, ensuring alignment with business continuity objectives, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience requirements. Your responsibilities will span the entire DR lifecycle—from strategy development and policy enforcement to rigorous testing, risk assessment, and continuous improvement—while also overseeing day-to-day data center operations to maintain high availability and service stability.

Key Responsibilities

Disaster Recovery Management

In this critical function, you will:

  • Lead DR Strategy and Governance: Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive Disaster Recovery strategies, policies, and procedures, including recovery runbooks and operational guidelines. Ensure these frameworks are periodically reviewed and updated to reflect evolving business needs and technological advancements.
  • Coordinate DR Testing and Validation: Plan, execute, and oversee DR testing exercises, including failover and failback simulations, to validate recovery capabilities. Analyze test results, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions to enhance resilience and meet Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) targets.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with Infrastructure, Application, Security, Business Continuity, and Business Units to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to DR readiness. Facilitate cross-functional alignment to address dependencies and mitigate risks.
  • Risk Assessment and Compliance: Conduct thorough DR risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and improvement opportunities. Monitor and track corrective actions arising from tests, audits, and assessments, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. Prepare executive-level reports, dashboards, and metrics to communicate DR readiness, testing outcomes, and compliance status.

Data Center Coordination

Your role extends to the operational oversight of data center environments, where you will:

  • Ensure Operational Stability: Oversee day-to-day data center operations to maintain high availability, service continuity, and infrastructure readiness. Coordinate infrastructure deployment activities, including rack and stack operations, cabling, power allocation, cooling management, hardware installation, and equipment relocation.
  • Manage Technology Projects: Lead and coordinate strategic initiatives such as infrastructure upgrades, technology refresh projects, migrations, and capacity expansion. Ensure adherence to change management processes, operational procedures, and governance standards.
  • Vendor and Asset Management: Collaborate with third-party vendors to ensure compliance with service delivery agreements and technical requirements. Oversee asset management, capacity planning, and facility readiness initiatives to support operational resilience.
  • Support New Deployments: Manage operational readiness activities for new systems and infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with organizational policies and industry best practices.

Project and Operational Resilience Support

You will also drive strategic resilience initiatives by:

  • Leading Critical Projects: Manage high-impact projects such as the Oracle Exadata Cloud Customer (EXACC) Storage Expansion and Hardware Security Module (HSM) Relocation and Deployment, providing technical guidance and recommendations to optimize recovery capabilities and infrastructure performance.
  • Driving Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance DR and data center resilience through technology adoption, process optimization, and best practice implementation. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement solutions that reduce risk and improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, or Data Center Operations.
  • Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing DR strategies, including hands-on experience with failover testing, risk assessments, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive them to successful completion.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the capacity to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and present findings to executive leadership.
  • Certifications such as Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certified Disaster Recovery Engineer (CDRE), or ITIL v4 are highly desirable.

If you are a results-driven professional with a passion for resilience and continuity, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the organization’s operational stability and long-term success.
