Amusement Rides & Elevators inspector

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Amusement Rides & Elevators Inspector to join our team at Applus in Jeddah. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of amusement rides and elevators in accordance with national and international regulations. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the public while maintaining operational excellence in one of the region’s most dynamic industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety Inspections: Conduct thorough and systematic inspections of amusement rides, including roller coasters, Ferris wheels, and other attractions, as well as elevators and lifting equipment, to verify compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Compliance Verification: Ensure all inspected equipment adheres to local, regional, and international safety codes, such as those set by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) and other relevant authorities.
• Risk Assessment: Identify potential hazards, structural weaknesses, or operational inefficiencies in rides and elevators, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks and enhance safety protocols.
• Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings, non-compliance issues, and recommendations. Maintain accurate records of all inspections, certifications, and follow-up actions for regulatory and operational purposes.
• Preventive Maintenance Support: Collaborate with maintenance teams to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules, ensuring rides and elevators operate at optimal performance levels while minimizing downtime.
• Emergency Response: Respond promptly to incidents or complaints related to amusement rides or elevators, conducting immediate assessments and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to resolve safety concerns.
• Training & Awareness: Provide guidance and training to operators, maintenance personnel, and facility managers on best practices for ride and elevator safety, compliance, and emergency procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications in amusement ride or elevator inspection (e.g., from TÜV, ASME, or similar organizations) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in inspection, maintenance, or engineering roles within the amusement ride or elevator industry, with a proven track record in safety compliance and risk assessment.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, structural integrity principles, and safety regulations applicable to amusement rides and elevators.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and regulatory documents to identify potential issues and recommend solutions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic, with the ability to draft clear reports and interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to inspections, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance.
• Certifications: Valid inspector certification from a recognized authority (e.g., SASO, ISO, or equivalent) is required.
