ASAB ESS: Electrical Engineer (Secret Clearance)

Key Responsibilities

• System Design and Maintenance: Develop, implement, and maintain electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation. Ensure all systems operate within specified parameters and comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity. Conduct root cause analysis to identify recurring problems and implement corrective actions.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all electrical installations and modifications adhere to local and international safety codes, such as NFPA 70E, IEC, and IEEE standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance and mitigate risks.
• Project Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, mechanical engineers, and technicians, to support the planning, execution, and completion of projects. Provide technical expertise during the design, procurement, and installation phases.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of electrical systems, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance logs. Prepare technical reports, risk assessments, and compliance documentation as required.
• Security Clearance Adherence: Obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, adhering to all security protocols and requirements. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with organizational and governmental security policies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PE, CEng) are advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the oil and gas, power generation, or industrial sectors. Experience with hazardous area classifications and explosion-proof equipment is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar), PLC programming, and SCADA systems. Familiarity with power systems analysis and simulation tools is a plus.
• Certifications: Valid electrical engineering license or certification, where applicable. Certifications in safety management (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) or electrical safety are beneficial.
• Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Clearance Requirements: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Candidates must pass a thorough background investigation, including criminal, financial, and employment history checks.
