Core Responsibilities

In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing a wide range of accounting functions to support MSD’s financial health and regulatory compliance. Your duties will include managing general ledger accounts, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and ensuring adherence to international accounting standards such as IFRS. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, tax, and audit departments, to streamline processes, identify financial risks, and implement best practices in accounting operations.

The Senior Specialist will also be tasked with analyzing financial data to provide actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making. This includes reconciling complex accounts, managing month-end and year-end closing processes, and supporting external audits to ensure transparency and accuracy in financial reporting. Additionally, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting policies and procedures to align with evolving regulatory requirements and corporate objectives.

Key Qualifications and Skills

• Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly desirable. You should possess a minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a senior or leadership role within a multinational corporation or a large-scale enterprise.
• Technical Proficiency: Profound expertise in general ledger systems, ERP software (such as SAP or Oracle), and advanced Excel skills are essential. Familiarity with financial reporting tools and data visualization platforms will be a significant advantage.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations is critical. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy are non-negotiable in this role.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to effectively liaise with stakeholders across departments and present financial information clearly and concisely. The ability to work in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities is essential.
• Regulatory Knowledge: A deep understanding of international accounting standards (IFRS), local regulatory requirements, and corporate governance principles is necessary to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks.
