About the Role

We are seeking a meticulous, inquisitive, and driven Database Administrator Trainee to join our Data Platform team through the Tamheer Program. Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will collaborate closely with seasoned Database Administrators, Data Engineers, and Platform Engineers to perform a variety of critical tasks, including:

• SQL Development and Optimization: Write, review, and optimize SQL queries to enhance performance and efficiency.
• Performance Analysis: Identify slow or inefficient queries and recommend improvements to database performance.
• Monitoring and Health Checks: Support database monitoring initiatives, conduct health checks, and perform capacity analysis to ensure optimal system performance.
• Backup and Recovery: Assist in database backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability activities to safeguard data integrity.
• Incident Investigation: Help diagnose database incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures.
• Benchmarking and Configuration Analysis: Compare database configurations, queries, and technologies to determine the most effective solutions.
• Automation Development: Create Python scripts to automate repetitive database and operational tasks, enhancing efficiency and reducing human error.
• Data Validation: Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity through rigorous validation processes.
• Technical Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports, performance findings, and actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
• Documentation and Standards: Support the development and maintenance of database standards, operational procedures, and best practices.
