Adult Endocrinology Consultant

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Adult Endocrinology Consultant to join our esteemed healthcare team at Fakeeh Care. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional endocrinological care to adult patients, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices, and maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence. Key Responsibilities

The Adult Endocrinology Consultant will play a critical role in the assessment, management, and treatment of patients with endocrine disorders. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Patient Assessment and Care Planning: Conducting comprehensive clinical, socioeconomic, psychological, and functional assessments of patients, documenting findings meticulously in medical records. Developing individualized, evidence-based care plans that align with established standards of care and documenting these plans in patients’ medical records.
• Inpatient Management: Serving as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP) for inpatients admitted under your care. This includes developing and implementing discharge plans on the day of admission, involving discharge-planning services as early as possible when necessary, and conducting daily patient assessments. Ensuring that daily progress notes are documented in SOAP format and that medical interventions are recorded promptly.
• Consultation and Collaboration: Responding to medical consultations in a timely manner and collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care. Participating in departmental and general staff meetings to contribute ideas aimed at enhancing efficiency, productivity, and patient satisfaction.
• Documentation and Compliance: Strictly adhering to Fakeeh Care’s documentation standards for medical records. Completing and authenticating discharge summaries in a timely manner, ensuring that patients receive clear discharge instructions and education on take-home medications prior to discharge. Writing medical reports in accordance with Fakeeh Care’s prescribed format.
• Education and Training: Contributing to teaching rounds and educational activities as requested by the chairperson of the medical department. Educating patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures to empower them in managing their health effectively.
• Administrative and Operational Duties: Attending to facility duties and responding to calls as per the departmental or section call schedule. Performing all duties in alignment with Fakeeh Care’s Person-Centered care values and actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Safety and Compliance: Upholding strict confidentiality of all sensitive information accessed during work. Adhering to safety protocols and proactively addressing any job-related safety concerns. Complying with cybersecurity policies and participating in awareness training to mitigate cyber threats. Adhering to Fakeeh Care’s code of conduct, policies, and ethical standards.

Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education and Experience: Completion of structured training in Adult Endocrinology or a subspecialty within a recognized medical center, along with obtaining the highest clinical degree in the field as granted by that institution. Completion of experience requirements as stipulated by the regional health regulatory authority (e.g., SCFHS, DHA, or equivalent).
• Licenses and Certifications: Valid license to practice as per the regional health regulatory authority (e.g., SCFHS, DHA, or equivalent).
• Language Proficiency: Excellent command of both oral and written English and Arabic to facilitate effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Technical and Soft Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and strong organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations while maintaining a focus on patient care and safety.
• Professional Conduct: Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development, including completion of mandatory education prior to expiration. Adherence to ethical standards and a proactive approach to addressing job-related challenges.
