Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Physiotherapist - Neuro to join our multidisciplinary team, dedicated to delivering exceptional neurological rehabilitation services. Key Responsibilities
The Senior Physiotherapist - Neuro will be responsible for providing comprehensive physiotherapy services to patients experiencing physical challenges due to neurological conditions, injuries, disabilities, or aging. Your core duties will include:
- Patient Assessment and Treatment: Conduct thorough neurological assessments to identify impairments and develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based techniques such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and electrotherapy.
- Neurological Rehabilitation: Deliver specialized care for a wide range of neurological and neurodegenerative conditions, including but not limited to:
- Stroke and cerebrovascular accidents
- Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
- Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
- Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Vestibular disorders
- Peripheral neurological disorders
- Advanced Clinical Skills: Utilize specialized techniques such as gait and movement analysis, balance and vestibular rehabilitation, functional mobility training, and spasticity management to optimize patient recovery and independence.
- Equipment Prescription and Discharge Planning: Assess and prescribe mobility aids, rehabilitation equipment, and assistive devices to support patients’ long-term functional goals. Develop comprehensive discharge plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions to home or care settings.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Supervise junior physiotherapists, students, and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Provide guidance on best practices in neurological rehabilitation and contribute to the training of future healthcare professionals.
- Quality Improvement and Service Development: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and service development projects to enhance the delivery of neurological rehabilitation services. Contribute to research, teaching, or publication efforts to advance the field and improve patient care standards.
- Patient and Family Education: Empower patients and their families with the knowledge and skills required to manage neurological conditions effectively. Provide clear instructions on home exercise programs, adaptive strategies, and preventive measures to promote long-term well-being.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
- Professional Registration: Current registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) and professional classification as a physiotherapist.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of specialized experience in neurological physiotherapy, with a strong preference for candidates with both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation experience.
- Certifications: Advanced certifications in neurological rehabilitation methodologies (e.g., Bobath/NDT, PNF, Vestibular Rehabilitation, Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES), or equivalent) are highly desirable.
- Clinical Competencies: Proven expertise in assessing and treating a wide spectrum of neurological conditions, including stroke, SCI, TBI, MS, Parkinson’s Disease, vestibular disorders, and peripheral neurological disorders. Demonstrated proficiency in neurological assessment, gait analysis, balance rehabilitation, spasticity management, and equipment prescription.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams. Strong patient and family education skills, coupled with a compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
- Additional Advantages: Prior experience in research, teaching, or publication in the field of neurological rehabilitation is considered a significant asset.
