Site Reliability Engineer

About the Role

TestCrew is actively seeking highly skilled and motivated Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to join an upcoming enterprise engagement based in Al Ahsa. In this critical operational role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the availability, reliability, performance, and security of mission-critical IT systems. Your responsibilities will encompass proactive monitoring, automation, and disciplined incident response to maintain seamless service delivery.

This is a hands-on position that requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and security, to uphold high availability standards, optimize operational efficiency through automation, and drive continuous service enhancements. The ideal candidate must be prepared to work onsite at the client’s location in Al Ahsa and participate in on-call or shift rotations as required by the operational demands of the engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain Enterprise Systems: Monitor and manage enterprise infrastructure, applications, and services to ensure high availability, stability, and optimal performance across the environment.
• Enhance Observability: Operate and maintain advanced monitoring and observability platforms to detect incidents, analyze trends, and proactively respond to system anomalies before they impact users.
• Design Monitoring Strategies: Develop and implement comprehensive monitoring strategies, including dashboards, alerts, and performance metrics, to improve operational visibility and decision-making.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Perform in-depth root cause analysis for incidents and implement preventive measures to minimize recurring issues and enhance system resilience.
• Automate Operational Tasks: Leverage scripting and infrastructure automation tools to streamline deployments, maintenance activities, and repetitive operational tasks, thereby increasing efficiency and reducing human error.
• Manage CI/CD Pipelines: Oversee continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to support reliable, efficient, and secure software release processes.
• Optimize System Performance: Continuously monitor and optimize system performance while ensuring strict adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), operational standards, and industry best practices.
• Ensure Business Continuity: Support initiatives related to business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational resilience to safeguard critical services against disruptions.
• Implement Security Best Practices: Apply robust security measures, including system hardening, patch management, and secure operational procedures, to mitigate risks and protect sensitive data.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with development, infrastructure, security, and IT operations teams to resolve complex technical challenges and drive cohesive solutions.
• Maintain Operational Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive operational documentation, including runbooks, knowledge articles, and incident reports, to ensure knowledge continuity and efficient troubleshooting.
• Participate in Incident Management: Engage in major incident management, conduct post-incident reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and operational maturity.
• Provide On-Call Support: Deliver on-call support and participate in shift rotations as required to maintain 24/7 operational coverage and rapid incident response capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, Infrastructure Operations, or Production Support roles.
• Proven experience managing enterprise monitoring and observability platforms, including but not limited to:
  • Grafana
  • Prometheus
  • Datadog
  • Instana
  • Zabbix
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across infrastructure, applications, and networking domains.
• Hands-on expertise in scripting and automation using:
  • Python
  • Bash
  • PowerShell
• Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as:
  • Ansible
  • Terraform
• Practical knowledge of CI/CD tools, including:
  • Jenkins
  • GitLab CI
  • Azure DevOps
• Solid understanding of business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational risk management principles.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including system hardening, access control, vulnerability management, and patch management.
• Familiarity with ITSM processes (Incident, Problem, and Change Management) and tools such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management is considered advantageous.
• Fluency in both Arabic and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• ITIL Foundation Certification.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Exposure to containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Prior experience supporting large-scale enterprise or government environments.
