Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team at a rapidly expanding events company based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations while supporting our ambitious growth trajectory. In this position, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering insightful financial reporting to drive strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

The Accountant will oversee a wide range of financial activities to ensure the smooth operation of our accounting processes. Your core responsibilities will include:

• General Ledger Management: Maintain and manage the General Ledger (GL), ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded, classified, and posted in a timely manner.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process and manage supplier invoices, customer invoices, and payment collections while ensuring compliance with company policies and VAT regulations.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), providing clear and actionable insights to management.
• Bank Reconciliation & Adjustments: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure the integrity of financial data and identify discrepancies promptly.
• Month-End & Year-End Closing: Lead the month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, journal entries, and account adjustments, to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
• Budget Monitoring & Variance Analysis: Track event and project budgets, analyze cost variances, and provide recommendations to optimize financial performance and resource allocation.
• Compliance & Internal Controls: Ensure adherence to VAT regulations, company policies, and internal control procedures to mitigate financial risks and maintain regulatory compliance.
• Auditor Coordination: Collaborate with external auditors by preparing audit schedules, gathering supporting documentation, and facilitating the audit process to ensure timely and accurate financial audits.
• ERP & System Management: Utilize Odoo ERP for financial record-keeping and reporting, while leveraging advanced Microsoft Excel skills to perform data analysis and financial modeling.
• Strategic Support: Assist the Finance Manager with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support long-term business planning and decision-making.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 5–6 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with a proven track record in financial reporting and compliance.
• In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements, including VAT regulations.
• Hands-on experience with Odoo ERP is essential, along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling.
• Prior experience in an accounting firm or external audit environment is highly advantageous and will be considered a strong asset.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the capacity to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with the events, advertising, or project-based industries is preferred but not mandatory.
