Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Academic Delivery

The Faculty Member in Anatomy will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating high-impact educational experiences for medical students. This includes:

• Conducting comprehensive lectures, laboratory sessions, and interactive tutorials covering core anatomical disciplines such as Gross Anatomy, Histology, Embryology, and Neuroanatomy (where applicable).
• Facilitating hands-on practical sessions through dissection labs, anatomical models, or virtual simulation platforms to enhance experiential learning.
• Implementing innovative, student-centered pedagogical approaches, including Case-Based Learning (CBL) and Problem-Based Learning (PBL), to promote active engagement and deep understanding of anatomical concepts.
• Leveraging modern educational technologies, including the Learning Management System (LMS) – Blackboard, and digital tools to enhance teaching effectiveness and student accessibility.
• Developing, administering, and evaluating assessments using platforms such as ExamSoft to ensure rigorous academic standards and alignment with program outcomes.
• Maintaining meticulous academic records, including attendance tracking, grade reporting, and student performance analytics, in compliance with institutional and accreditation requirements.

Student Support and Academic Development

This role places a strong emphasis on student success and holistic development. The Faculty Member will:

• Provide personalized academic advising and mentorship to guide students through their educational journey and career aspirations.
• Offer targeted support to help students grasp complex anatomical principles, ensuring a strong foundation for clinical practice.

Research and Scholarly Activities

• Collaborate in the ongoing review, enhancement, and accreditation of the anatomy curriculum to ensure it meets evolving educational and professional standards.
• Prepare comprehensive course and program reports, including self-studies and accreditation documentation, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Collaboration and Engagement

Fostering a collaborative academic environment is essential to this role. The Faculty Member will:

• Participate actively in departmental meetings, faculty committees, and interdisciplinary forums to contribute to strategic planning and decision-making.
• Work closely with clinical and basic science faculty to integrate anatomical knowledge with clinical applications, enhancing the relevance and impact of the curriculum.

Qualifications and Requirements

Educational Background

• A PhD in Anatomy or a closely related medical field is required.
• A Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with a specialization in Anatomy is mandatory.

Professional Experience

• Proven experience in teaching anatomy within a medical or health sciences program, with a demonstrated ability to engage diverse student cohorts.
• Familiarity with contemporary teaching methodologies, including Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Case-Based Learning (CBL), and integrated curricula, is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), particularly Blackboard, and other digital teaching platforms is required.
