Position Overview

Valleysoft is seeking a highly skilled and motivated API Connect Developer to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

• API Design and Development: Lead the design, development, and optimization of APIs using industry-leading tools and frameworks, with a primary focus on API Connect. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define API specifications, endpoints, and data models that align with business objectives and technical requirements.
• Integration and Connectivity: Develop and maintain robust integration solutions that enable seamless connectivity between disparate systems, applications, and third-party services. Utilize API Connect to streamline workflows, enhance data exchange, and improve operational efficiency across the organization.
• Performance and Scalability: Monitor, analyze, and optimize API performance to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability. Implement best practices for caching, load balancing, and error handling to deliver a superior user experience and support business growth.
• Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce authentication, authorization, and encryption protocols, safeguarding API endpoints and mitigating potential risks.
• Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure alignment with project goals. Maintain comprehensive documentation for APIs, integration processes, and deployment procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding.
• Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate API functionality, performance, and security. Utilize automated testing tools and frameworks to identify and resolve issues proactively, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in API development and integration. Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance system efficiency, reduce technical debt, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and expertise:

• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of API Connect, RESTful APIs, SOAP, GraphQL, and microservices architecture. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js, along with experience in API gateway solutions.
• Integration Expertise: Hands-on experience with integration platforms, ESB (Enterprise Service Bus), and middleware technologies. Familiarity with data transformation tools and protocols such as JSON, XML, and EDI is highly desirable.
• Security Awareness: Strong understanding of API security principles, including OAuth, OpenID Connect, JWT, and API key management. Experience implementing security best practices to protect against threats such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), and DDoS attacks.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions. Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and propose effective resolutions in a timely manner.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Strong collaboration skills and the capacity to work effectively in a remote team environment.
• Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in API development, integration, or a closely related discipline. Relevant certifications in API Connect, IBM Integration Bus, or similar technologies are a plus.
