Role Overview: Specialty Account Manager – Hepatology, Riyadh

As a Specialty Account Manager – Hepatology based in Riyadh, you will play a pivotal role in driving the commercial success of GSK’s hepatology portfolio within your assigned territory. Your responsibilities will revolve around engaging with internal and external stakeholders to deliver patient-focused detailing tailored to healthcare professionals (HCPs), ensuring product formulary inclusion, and expediting access in key accounts. You will be directly accountable for meeting annual sales targets in your territory while collaborating with your line manager to implement commercial strategies that deliver performance through a solutions-driven approach to account management.

Key Responsibilities

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead critical activities that will shape your career trajectory. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Patient-Focused Detailing: Master the implementation of patient-focused detailing by demonstrating excellence in product and disease knowledge, utilizing comprehensive collaterals to engage HCPs effectively.
  • Sales Targets and KPIs: Deliver sales targets and lead key performance indicators (KPIs) for your assigned territory, playing a central role in achieving brand and therapy area objectives.
  • Commercial Strategy Execution: Develop and execute commercial strategies in your defined territory, acting as a trusted advisor to HCPs by offering tailored solutions that meet their needs.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor product performance on a weekly and monthly basis, recommending and implementing required actions through the development and execution of a robust territory business plan aligned with the commercial sales strategy.
  • Marketing and Operational Support: Assist in marketing-specific tasks and drive the premium implementation of the annual operational plan to maximize impact.
  • Market Intelligence and Forecasting: Develop market intelligence and initiate the forecasting process in collaboration with the commercial trade channel (CTC) and marketing teams to accurately reflect market demand.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Support the product supply process by coordinating with supply chain and CTC teams to ensure product availability and manage product shelf-life effectively.
  • Market Access Strategies: Collaborate with the market access team to develop and implement access plans for your territory, establishing a clear roadmap for key accounts to facilitate product adoption.
  • Group Doctors’ Meetings (GDMs): Conduct frequent and effective GDMs to drive disease and product education among HCPs, fostering a deeper understanding of GSK’s offerings.
  • Market Segmentation and Targeting: Prioritize efforts and resources through robust market segmentation and targeting within your assigned territory to optimize commercial activities and resource allocation.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Establish and nurture long-lasting relationships with scientific societies and key external experts (KEEs) to leverage advocacy and support patient care across the region.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Basic Qualifications:
    • Saudi National.
    • Pharmacy degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
    • Possession of a Saudi Commission for Health Specialists (SCFHS) card.
    • A proven track record of success in a similar role.
    • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across your assigned remote territory.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in hepatology, gastroenterology, or broader specialty-care sectors.
    • Prior experience in new product launches.
    • Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex scientific content clearly and effectively.
    • Proven ability to manage larger geographical territories with a strong performance record against agreed KPIs and quality implementation of patient-focused sales strategies (PFSS).
    • In-depth understanding of the Customer-Centric Commercial (CCC) cycle and expertise in managing diverse stakeholders within the supply chain and commercial ecosystem.
