Key Responsibilities

As a Sustaining Engineering Junior Engineer at AWPT, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our existing product lines. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical issues reported by customers or internal teams, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency for water and power systems.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of engineering changes, test results, and performance data. Prepare detailed reports on sustaining activities, including root cause analyses and corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
• Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with design, manufacturing, and field service teams to identify opportunities for product improvements, cost reductions, and reliability enhancements. Participate in design reviews and provide valuable feedback based on field performance data.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all sustaining engineering activities adhere to international standards, regulatory requirements, and AWPT’s quality management systems. Support internal audits and assist in implementing corrective and preventive measures to maintain compliance.
• Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Contribute to process optimization efforts by analyzing data trends, identifying inefficiencies, and proposing data-driven solutions to enhance product longevity and customer satisfaction.
• Field Support & Training: Assist in on-site technical support when required, providing guidance to customers and field teams on best practices for system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Participate in training sessions to expand your technical knowledge and stay updated with industry advancements.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution. Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
• Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of engineering principles, with familiarity in areas such as fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, electrical systems, or control systems, depending on the product line. Proficiency in CAD software, simulation tools, or data analysis platforms is a plus.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex technical issues, interpret data, and develop effective solutions. Attention to detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting are essential.
• Communication & Teamwork: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Fluency in Arabic is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Adaptability & Learning Agility: A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
