Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and meticulous Tailor to join our esteemed team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional craftsmanship and customer service, ensuring that all tailoring tasks are executed with precision and efficiency. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tailoring duties, including alterations, repairs, and the creation of uniforms, all while maintaining the highest standards of quality and adherence to hotel policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Uniform Creation and Alterations: Measure, make, or alter uniforms for new employees and handle basic alteration requests from guests with professionalism and attention to detail.
• Uniform Maintenance: Repair and maintain uniforms for all hotel employees to ensure they remain in optimal condition and meet the hotel’s standards.
• Inventory and Supply Management: Inform the linen room supervisor about the need to replenish sewing supplies and maintain a detailed record of daily tailoring activities. Additionally, convert discarded linen into usable items for re-circulation and organize and take inventory of all fabric materials.
• Work Area Organization: Keep the tailoring area clean, tidy, and well-organized to facilitate efficient workflow and uphold safety standards.
• Task Execution: Fulfill duties and tasks assigned by superiors promptly and with a high level of professionalism.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Professional Tailoring Skills: Proven experience in tailoring, preferably within a hotel or hospitality setting, with a strong understanding of garment construction, alterations, and repairs.
• Education and Training: Formal training or certification in tailoring, sewing, or a related field is highly desirable.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is advantageous, as it enables effective communication with guests and team members from diverse backgrounds.
• Soft Skills: The ideal candidate will demonstrate a friendly, caring, and dedicated approach, with excellent cross-cultural sensitivity. You should be able to prioritize tasks effectively, work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate seamlessly with a multicultural team.
